To drive business growth and acquire new customers for logistics services (freight, warehousing, customs brokerage) across Zimbabwe, Zambia, DRC, and Malawi, with a focus on directing traffic through the Maputo corridor.
Responsabilidades
- Actively build and formulate a strong sales pipeline, with special focus in Zambia, Zimbabwe, DRC and Malawi
- Design and execute new customer logistics solutions to attract them to the Maputo corridor
- Liaising with internal departments, DP World global offices and external logistics partners for opportunity development
- Acquisition of new SME customers for logistics services including freight, warehousing, customs brokerage etc at the 4 countries of focus:
- Ensures CRM tools are updated on time with excellent quality
- Assist in system updates, firefighting, manage cross-functional collaboration
- Ensures opportunities are updated on time and are of excellent quality
- Own and execute the quote & contract process with relevant stakeholders
- Identifying growth opportunities with market know-how/ meeting new customers to broaden the opportunity list and developing new customers
- Liaise with shipping lines, both in Mozambique and abroad (mainly Zimbabwe and Swaziland), to ensure maximum requirements and attract business
- Support negotiation of large contracts
- Resolve any conflict with liners, shippers or consignees
- Maintain relationships with existing key customers to ensure on going satisfaction and maximize business potential
- Ensure that documentation related to consignee / shipper related documents is managed and executed properly through the system
- Assist commercial analyst to analyse port/commodity statistics, by liaising with customers and subsequently assist him in preparing reports to Management on special trends or developments
- Undertake projects with commercial analyst to understand customer profitability – line wise based on tariffs, volumes, type of service, etc
- Receive, respond and follow up on enquiries to ensure maximum conversion to business
- Closely coordinate with operations to identify measures with focus on customer objectives and improvement in operations productivity
- Ensure accurate management and collection of cash in close coordination with Finance.
Qualificações
- Experience in Commercial, Sales & Business development in the container terminal industry: 4 to 5 years
- Experience of working or dealing with shipping/ container line companies
Habilidades e Experiência
- Willing to be based in Harare
- Preferable: Advanced Management degree
- Knowledge of Zambia, Zimbabwe, DRC and Malawi markets are preferable
- Integrity
- Knowledge of the mineral market
