Contact is recruiting for its client, a multinational company operating in the Oil & Energy sector, a Permitting Coordinator (m/f), based in Afungi, Cabo Delgado.
Function:
- Reporting directly to the General Counselor and the VP Legal, the main activities of the job include: to obtain technical information from the engineering team and develop permitting packages for submission to the regulatory authorities and follow up thereafter until the issuance of the permit.
- to work closely with site teams including engineering, environmental and social to anticipate needs.
- to organize and participate in site visits with consultants and government officials for field inspection as required.
- to provide guidance to contractors with permitting processes when and if required.
- to participate in contractors regular permitting audits; to communicate all permit or license conditions to the permit holder and checkup for compliance.
Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent in one or more of the following disciplines: Engineering, Law, or Science;
- Minimum of 5 years relevant Project permitting experience;
- Previous experience in similar or associated role(s) on large scale Project(s);
- Experience in Microsoft office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and/or other relevant business information systems;
- Excellent English and Portuguese Skills;
- Excellent working knowledge of legislation, permits, licenses and regulations in Mozambique;
- Able to engage with Government within Company policies, guidelines and applicable laws;
- Ability to interface with project teams at site and government officials at, provincial and district level;
- Able to work independently internally and externally with the organization, while keeping Permitting Lead informed and involved in key decision points;
- Living in the local area of the job will be an advantage.
