Description:

To ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective fleetoperations by managing vehicle maintenance, coordinating transportation,overseeing loading and unloading, implementing safety protocols, optimizingroute planning, and maintaining compliance with regulations.

Functions or responsibilities:

• Operational Effectiveness
• Coordinate with port operations team to ensure seamless integration of fleet activities and maintain operational efficiency;
• Monitor and manage fleet vehicle maintenance schedules to ensure vehicles are in optimal condition and minimize downtime;
• Track fleet vehicle utilization and performance to maximize efficiency and identify areas for improvement;
• Oversee loading and unloading operations of fleet vehicles to ensure accuracy and prevent damage to cargo;
• Manage fuel consumption and expenses for fleet vehicles to control costs and improve efficiency;
• Coordinate with drivers to ensure adherence to schedules to maintain timely and reliable service;
• Coordinate emergency response and breakdown assistance for fleet vehicles to minimize disruptions and ensure continuity;
• Implement and oversee a preventative maintenance program to extend vehicle life and reduce repair costs;
• Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all fleet activities to maintain transparency and accountability;
• Deliver offloaded stock to consignment warehouse to ensure timely and accurate delivery of cargo, maintaining the flow of operations and inventory management;
• Facilitate port of discharge to warehouse transportation to ensure efficient and reliable transfer of cargo, minimizing delays and optimizing logistics; Sustainable Growth
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings;
• Develop cost-saving initiatives for fleet operations to improve profitability and efficiency; Good Governance, Risk and Compliance
• Ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are followed by production staff, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety guidelines;
• Ensure the upkeep of EHSS (Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability) policies and procedures within the Port Operations environments;
• Perform regular safety audits and inspections of the port and production area to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols;
• Implement safety protocols for fleet operations to ensure the safety of personnel and cargo;
• Monitor and enforce compliance with environmental regulations to minimize the environmental impact of fleet operations;
• Develop and implement fleet management policies and procedures to standardize operations and improve performance;
• • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and standards to avoid legal issues and maintain operational integrity;
• Conduct regular inspections of fleet vehicles to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards; Leading Talent
• Ensure that the individual performance management discussions are completed within the policy guidelines, recorded and followed through on personal development areas;
• Maintain a positive work climate and culture to energize employees, give meaning to work, minimize work disruption and maximize employee productivity.

Requirements or qualifications:

•  2- 3 years experience in a similar role;
• Language skills: Proficient in Portuguese and English;
• Minimum Qualifications: Certificate(s) in Logistics, Supply chain management or Transportation management
• Deal with pressure and setbacks and persevere until the goal is achieved;
• Plan, organize and execute work activities in order to achieve desired outcomes;
• Working in collaboratively teams towards common goals;
• Having worked in a port is an advantage;
• Knowledge of warehouse management systems.
