MOZQUARRIES is recruiting one (1) Security Officer for Pemba, Cabo Delgado.
Primary responsibility:
The Security Officer will be responsible for monitoring and operating electronic security and CCTV systems to ensure the protection of company premises and a prompt response to security incidents. The officer will coordinate with security teams, report incidents, and ensure compliance with company security policies, maintaining a safe, secure, and controlled environment at all times.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Monitoring and operating electronic security control systems within the control room;
- Responding to all security alerts in a timely and professional manner;
- Reporting and logging all security incidents and system irregularities (incident reporting);
- Coordinating with field security personnel and other staff during emergency situations;
- Ensuring all surveillance equipment and systems are fully operational;
- Maintaining detailed and accurate records of all control room operations;
- Carrying out routine checks of the premises via CCTV and reporting any unusual findings;
- Communicating effectively with management about any security risks or threats;
- Assisting law enforcement and emergency services when necessary;
- Adhering to all company policies and procedures related to security;
- Submit daily/nightly report of activity to management.
Skills and competencies:
- Proven experience as a security officer or guard;
- Knowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safety;
- Experience in surveillance systems and emergency procedures;
- Good understanding of report writing;
- Excellent surveillance and observation skills;
- Strong integrity and professional conduct;
- Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations;
- Fluent in Portuguese and English (written and spoken).
Education & experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in industrial or extractive site security management, preferably in high-risk or remote environments;
- High school diploma required, further education in security administration or a related field will be considered an advantage;
- Professional certification in security services or a relevant field is a plus.
