About Plan International
Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organization dedicated to advancing children’s rights and promoting gender equality. We believe in the power of every child, yet many face barriers due to poverty, violence, exclusion, and discrimination, with girls being the most affected.
For over 85 years, we have worked in over 80 countries to create a just world by addressing the root causes of the challenges facing girls and vulnerable children. Our work spans from birth to adulthood, ensuring children are prepared for and resilient against crises while driving policy changes at all levels.
The Girls Get Equal project aims to empower adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) aged 10-24, ensuring they are resilient and able to exercise their rights. The project focuses on:
- Access to climate-smart, inclusive, quality education.
- Economic empowerment of adolescents and youth, especially young women.
- Informed decision-making on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), protection from harmful practices and gender-based violence (SGBV), and access to relevant services.
- Strengthening civil society to foster a gender-transformative environment for youth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage partnerships with implementing partners through field and office monitoring visits.
- Identify and address capacity-building needs of partners.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with partners, stakeholders, and community structures, contributing to advocacy and influencing networks.

- Develop and implement project strategies, methodologies, and approaches, including a Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP).
- Provide relevant project data to the MERL Specialist in alignment with the Country Strategy MERL.
