Job Opening: Operations Coordinator (M/F) – Maputo

Location: Maputo, Mozambique
Company: Heading (on behalf of a client)

Main Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise the drivers’ team by assigning routes and transfers.
• Ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective fleet management.
• Oversee transfer service execution, team management, customer complaints, driver training, and reporting.
• Report to the Operations Supervisor.
• Provide proper instruction and refresher training for vehicle operators to prevent accidents and misuse of equipment.
• Support the HSE team with incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Foster a team-oriented environment, set performance goals, and monitor progress.
• Build and maintain strong internal and external customer relationships.
• Assign and manage daily transport operations and transfers.
• Monitor IVMS system alerts and report non-compliance or system issues.
• Validate continuous improvements and service levels.
• Supervise daily transportation activities, schedules, and related functions.
• Maintain transportation databases and ensure safety compliance.
• Oversee loading/unloading operations.
• Implement cost efficiency and environmental measures.
• Ensure vehicle maintenance, cleaning, and refuelling.
• Liaise with HSE Department to ensure compliance with safety practices.
• Assist in risk assessments and follow-up on corrective actions.
• Ensure performance expectations are communicated and achieved.

Required Education & Experience:

• Higher education is an advantage.
• Proven leadership and supervisory skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Ability to perform under pressure.
• Team-oriented, flexible, and cooperative work attitude.
• Strong internal and external communication abilities.
• High attention to administrative detail.
• Clear record-keeping and effective monitoring.
• Excellent computer literacy.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
• Effective time management and task completion.
• Experience in transportation; knowledge of Mozambique geography is an advantage.
• Mechanical knowledge of vehicles is a plus.
