Purpose of the Role

The Driver is responsible for the safe transportation and timely delivery of personnel, packages, and/or products.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure safety compliance, including the correct use of vehicle safety equipment and adherence to safety procedures.
• Knowledge of emergency response procedures and basic first aid kit usage.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections, ensuring roadworthiness per the GSO Journey Management Plan.
• Conduct basic vehicle maintenance, such as refueling, tire pressure checks, and oil level top-ups.
• Report vehicle issues (e.g., warning lights, unusual engine noises, misaligned tires, cracked windscreens).
• Adhere to delivery schedules and provide updates on deviations.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions, taking necessary precautions.
• Follow route planning for multiple stops, ensuring efficiency.
• Respect collection and delivery times as per management instructions.
• Maintain professional presentation and behavior at all times.
• Attend training sessions to enhance skills and competencies.
• Act as a liaison between SPM and SPT fleet management for vehicle services coordination.
• Courier items to and from project sites as required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years in a similar role.
• Valid Defensive Driving Certification (Sasol requirement).
