JOB SUMMARY
A client of ours is seeking a Branch Manager to oversee operations in Maputo and Pemba. This position suits an experienced shipping or logistics professional with the ability to manage staff, deliver excellent customer service, oversee operational and financial reporting, support sales activity and productivity targets, and act as a key link between the branch and senior management.

Our client is an established logistics group with a strong presence across Africa. They provide multimodal transport solutions, project cargo capability and customer-focused service supported by an experienced international network.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
In order to be shortlisted for the vacancy, the successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies, but not limited to:
- Experience within the shipping or logistics industry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proven experience managing staff performance
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Motivation to provide excellent service to customers
- Ability to travel domestically and abroad when required
- Experienced user of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Nice to haves
- Experience managing or supporting multiple branch locationsFamiliarity with operational systems such as Xsped
JOB DESCRIPTION
The role responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Managing staff, including hiring, training and performance evaluation
- Delivering high-quality customer service
- Developing and achieving sales and productivity goals
- Allocating resources for staff and customers
- Developing and implementing strategies to improve sales and productivity
- Building and maintaining a client portfolio through high service levels
- Liaising between the branch and senior management
- Managing financial reports and overseeing operational system Xsped
- Promoting a safe and healthy workplace
- Supporting African entities with quoting and operating cargo moving via Mozambique
- Supporting sales activity across the group
- Managing own operations for bookings
- Receiving, developing and managing internal leads
- Collecting costs from suppliers and quoting clients
- Engaging in sales to new clients when time allows
