The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is looking for a dynamic Logistics Assistant to support operational logistics activities and ensure compliance with NRC policies and procedures.
General Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with NRC policies, guidelines, SOPs, and donor requirements
- Implement delegated logistics functions according to the Plan of Action
- Conduct and follow up on daily operational logistics activities
- Support resource administration within set budgets and timelines
- Prepare and develop logistic reports as required
- Maintain proper filing of all supporting documents
- Promote and suggest improvements in logistics functions
Specific Responsibilities:
Fleet Management:
- Ensure proper vehicle utilization and adherence to MOVCON SOP
- Coordinate with program staff for monthly movement planning
- Manage vehicle rental services and fuel supply coordination
- Maintain vehicle records and ensure timely repairs and maintenance
- Monitor fuel consumption and generate monthly reports
- Ensure vehicles are equipped with necessary documents and equipment
- Report any accidents or breakdowns promptly
Stock Management:
- Ensure compliance with NRC’s Logistics Handbook and SOPs
- Maintain accurate stock records and update stock cards for each transaction
- Generate and share monthly stock reports
- Ensure timely replenishment of office supplies and consumables
Other Responsibilities:
- Handle material transport and deliveries
- Support logistics team in fleet and asset management as needed
- Process payments for logistics and office administration expenses
- Assist in office maintenance and coordination with the landlord
- Ensure timely payment of utility bills for office and staff accommodation
- Arrange official events and meetings when required
Qualifications & Competencies:
Professional Competencies:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics or a related field
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or a relevant field
- Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
Context-Specific Skills:
- Experience in the humanitarian sector is an advantage
- Candidates from Cabo Delgado are strongly encouraged to apply
- Knowledge of local languages (Makonde, Emacua, Kimuani, Swahili) is a plus
