Position Summary:
A. Environmental Sustainability
● Support the implementation of the Environmental Management Plan and the park’s sustainability initiatives.
● Conduct routine environmental monitoring: waste, dust, spills, green area management, overall environmental quality.
● Monitor the segregation, storage, and disposal of waste.
● Support the monitoring of environmental indicators for the industrial park (energy, water, waste, emissions, noise, etc.).
● Support and participate in internal and external inspections related to environment and sustainability.
● Support environmental awareness campaigns for workers, companies, and the community.
● Collect, organize, and update environmental and sustainability data.
● Participate in the preparation of environmental and sustainability reports.
B. Social Sustainability and Community Engagement
● Conduct direct engagement activities with communities near the park and businesses located within the park, including communication, information gathering, and monitoring of ongoing initiatives.
● Support the organization and execution of social projects.
● Support targeted local economic development initiatives that promote income opportunities for communities.
● Support operational coordination with the MozYouth Foundation in community activities.
● Participate in data collection and basic monitoring of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) activities.
Requirements:
Education:
● Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Sustainability, or related fields.
Experience:
● Up to 2 years of experience in environmental, social, or sustainability roles (includes internships).
● Field experience or community work will be valued.
Technical Skills:
● Basic knowledge of environmental management (waste, water, energy, emissions).
● Basic knowledge of ESG and corporate sustainability.
● Ability to collect and organize data.
● Excellent communication skills.
● Experience in event organization.
● Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Personal Skills:
● Good analytical, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.
● Ability to work in the field and in a multidisciplinary team.
● Developed communication and interpersonal skills.
● Collaborative spirit and willingness to learn.
Languages:
● Fluent Portuguese (required)
● Intermediate or advanced English
● Knowledge of Changana or Ronga will be an advantage.
