Short Description / Purpose of the Job
We are looking for a Civil Engineer in Training (EIT) for a one-year short-term contract to assist with our client’s projects. The professional will support structural and civil assessments through annual inspections, supervise construction, and review structural designs for the company’s projects.
Key Responsibilities
Business Results:
- Ensure full compliance with SHERQ requirements and business systems;
- Understand infrastructure asset maintenance management procedures for roads, rail, dams, concrete, structural steel, embankments, and bridges;
- Participate in asset inspections using identified techniques and requirements;
- Analyze and classify defects based on risks and asset conditions;
- Utilize and maintain the civil asset database;
- Gain exposure to asset modeling;
- Apply the BD&I model to company specifications, standard drawings, and small project development;
- Develop and understand construction schedules;
- Conduct concrete mix design analysis;
- Produce technical work information packages;
- Compile material test reports and propose corrective actions;
- Perform quality control and assurance activities;
- Interpret and verify surveying requirements and site conditions;
- Prepare technical reports and explain asset management procedures for defect analysis and structural integrity surveys.

Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
Minimum Experience
- No prior experience required.
License
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
