About Peace Parks Foundation
Peace Parks Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to facilitating the development of Transfrontier Conservation Areas (TFCAs) across Southern Africa. In Mozambique, Peace Parks supports the conservation sector in partnership with the National Administration of Conservation Areas (ANAC).
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to lead the operations and development of Banhine National Park, which forms part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park. This role demands a strategic and hands-on leader with a strong background in conservation area management, operational planning, and multidisciplinary team leadership.
The successful candidate will serve on the Park Management Committee, work in close collaboration with the Park Administrator, and coordinate activities across all departments to ensure alignment with strategic goals and operational efficiency.

Strategic Leadership & Operational Oversight
- Ensure park management aligns with strategic and operational plans.
- Oversee the development and implementation of departmental budgets and work plans across:

- Operations & Logistics

- Infrastructure
- Transfrontier Conservation Area Development
Project & Programme Management
- Lead all park projects and donor-funded programmes.
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports.
- Oversee procurement and tendering processes.
Monitoring, Reporting & Fundraising
- Support proposal development and donor reporting.
- Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, compliance, and safeguard implementation.
- Manage internal reporting systems and contribute to public relations content.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in senior operations or project management roles.
- Experience in the conservation sector is preferred but not mandatory—passion and knowledge of conservation are essential.
- Degree in Natural Sciences, Project Management, or Business Administration (or related field).
- Strong financial and budget management skills.
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal); Portuguese is a strong advantage.

- Donor programme reporting and compliance
- Liaising with government and working in complex landscapes (preferably in Mozambique or similar contexts)
- Experience with transfrontier conservation areas, counter-poaching strategies, community engagement, and infrastructure programmes is highly desirable.
- A pilot’s license (Savannah aircraft) is an asset.
- Willingness to live and work in remote locations is essential.
