About the Role
Our client is seeking a strategic Finance Manager to lead all financial operations for its Mozambique division. This position is vital to ensuring financial health, improving cost efficiency, and strengthening internal controls to support sustainable growth and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Oversight: Prepare financial statements, forecasts, and budgets. Lead monthly close processes and regulatory reporting.
- Performance Monitoring: Analyse costs, pricing, ROI, and other metrics. Evaluate performance against business plans.
- Risk and Compliance: Mitigate financial risks and ensure adherence to audit standards and local regulations.
- Strategic Advisory: Guide senior leadership on financial planning, cost-reduction strategies, and growth projections.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with auditors, vendors, and internal departments (Sales, Operations, HR).
- Process Optimisation: Establish and enhance financial controls and operational reporting processes.
- Team Leadership: Mentor finance staff and promote continuous learning and development.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
- Full professional certification (ACCA, CIMA, or CIS).
- At least 5 years of experience in financial management, accounting, or analysis.
- Demonstrated success in financial planning, compliance, and cross-departmental coordination.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and commercial skills, with expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
- Effective leadership and ability to influence strategic decisions across departments.
- High integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information.
- Proficient in financial systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Fluency in English (Portuguese is an asset).
