About Love The Oceans (LTO):
Love The Oceans (LTO) is a grassroots non-profit marine conservation organization operating in Mozambique. We are seeking dedicated and passionate Marine Biologists to support our expeditions in 2025. This 8-week position serves as an introduction to LTO, with a potential transition into a long-term, paid one-year contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undergo a one-week training and support two LTO research programs.
- Assist in field data collection for various marine conservation projects, including coral reefs, fisheries, megafauna, and ocean pollution.
- Ensure the safety, motivation, and coordination of volunteer teams.
- Manage and oversee data collection, photographic records, and equipment use.
- Represent LTO professionally within the community and with stakeholders.
- Support community engagement projects, such as eco-brick initiatives, school outreach, and beach cleanups.

Required Qualifications:
- Degree in Marine Biology or a related field.
- PADI Rescue Diver certification or higher.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Experience in field data collection, dataset management, and quantitative analysis.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Physically fit and able to work in remote environments.
Preferred but not mandatory:
- Experience working in remote/tropical locations.
- Ability to work independently and handle pressure.
- Previous experience in project and people management.
