Purpose
This role provides specialist advice and executes tasks to ensure a robust change control and document management process within operations. The role ensures accurate maintenance of the operation’s blueprint, reflecting approved modifications of plant, equipment, and infrastructure.
Accountabilities
Leadership:
- Promote a culture of safety and accountability, ensuring safe work outcomes.
- Identify and manage risks related to engineering governance and asset management.
- Ensure implementation of critical controls for material risks.
- Foster an inclusive and diverse work environment where every team member feels valued.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including Operations Managers, Superintendents, Supervisors, Engineers, and Maintainers.
Governance and Technical Stewardship:
- Ensure compliance with defined Engineering processes, business standards, statutory legislation, and industry regulations.
- Govern and control all technical documentation related to operations.
- Review and manage changes made to plant operations.
- Maintain systems that ensure accurate as-built blueprints and change management.
- Issue and manage current engineering standards, specifications, procedures, and drawings.
- Validate blueprints from projects and ensure accurate records of modifications.
- Perform asset condition assessments and defect management.
- Conduct self-assessments to identify improvement opportunities and ensure corrective actions.
- Update change control documentation to reflect “as-built” status.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Required Qualifications:
- Relevant Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Structural Engineering.
Technical/Specialist Skills:
- Knowledge of Asset Management Principles aligned with ISO 55000 Series Standard.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); CAD software knowledge is advantageous.
- Advanced knowledge of change management methodologies.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards such as SANS, ASME, API, ANSI, and ISO.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Fluency in Portuguese and English.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience, preferably in the aluminum smelting or heavy industrial sector.
