About the Role
Our client, a leading provider of affordable satellite internet across Africa, is seeking a Business Manager to head operations in Mozambique. This role is essential to scaling the business, optimising daily operations, and enabling digital access in underserved communities through strategic leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations at the Mozambique headquarters and distribution centre.
- Manage retail, agent, and partner performance across the country.
- Lead expansion strategies including new retail sites, hotspot installations, and government collaborations.
- Supervise logistics, warehousing, and inventory of satellite internet equipment (Starlink).
- Build and retain a high-performance team in operations and sales.
- Ensure financial accountability and compliance with local laws.
- Consistently meet performance targets:
- 95% on-time delivery
- 350+ active retailers
- <10% variance in budget execution
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in telecommunications, technology, distribution, or a fast-paced growth environment.
- Demonstrated success in operational management and scaling businesses.
Skills & Competencies
- Entrepreneurial drive with strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability and comfort building systems from scratch.
- Fluency in Portuguese and English (spoken and written).
- High emotional intelligence and team leadership capacity.
- Proficient in financial management tools and logistics software.
