The Italian non-profit organisation, Istituto Oikos, is seeking a highly motivated Country & Programme Coordinator to lead the organisation’s activities in Maputo, Mozambique, and support the implementation of RESILIENCITY, a project funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) that promotes sustainable and inclusive urban solutions to environmental and climate challenges.
Location: Maputo, with travel to Cabo Delgado
Start date: January 2026
Contract: 1-year (renewable)
€ Salary: €42,000 – €46,000 gross per year (based on experience and qualifications)
As Country & Programme Coordinator, you will oversee Oikos’ operations in Mozambique, ensuring strategic direction, institutional representation, and effective coordination of programmes and partnerships.
Key requirements:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in managing international offices or programmes
Strong financial management skills
Proven experience in institutional representation and donor relations
Excellent command of Italian (native or C2 certified level)
Familiarity with Results-Based Management (RBM)
Assets:
Previous work experience in Mozambique
Knowledge of Portuguese
