Job Description
Our office in Pemba, Mozambique is seeking a SHEQ Officer.
The purpose of the position is to ensure compliance with the company’s Integrated Management System (SLIMS) & SHEQ standards and SHEQ related legislation at the assigned contract. To continuously improve SLIMS implementation and increase the SHEQ culture at contract and or regional level.
Job description
- Ensure SLIMS implementation
- Conduct internal (SLIMS) audits based on ISM, ISPS, ISO 9001/14001 and ISO 45001 standards
- Register and assist in the execution of corrective and preventive actions
- Conduct SLIMS Familiarization and Shore training
- Assist in developing and improving work instructions, procedures, process flows and standard operating procedures
- Monitor SLIMS Crew training program/E-learning
- Deliver SHEQ related training on board vessels
- Identify and recommend areas of improvement
- Promote safe practices through campaigns
- Provide monthly input for SHEQ statistics
You will be interacting with:
- Internally – Vessel Crew, Contract Managers & TSI’s
- Externally – Class Societies and Clients as and when required
Qualifications

- Completed higher professional education
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in SHEQ.
- Experience in maritime industry is an advantage.
- Conversant with applicable international standards in the (maritime) industry e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISM, ISPS, MLC and OVMSA
- Able to write reports.
- Good communicator to all levels in the organization: management, shore personnel and crew
- This is a full-time position and we are looking for candidates residing in Pemba, Mozambique.
