About the Role
Join tdhs as a Technical Adviser (TA) for Sustainable Livelihoods to support youth-focused initiatives in agroecology, vocational training (VET), and green/blue economies. You will work with local partners in Mozambique and Zimbabwe to design training programs, strengthen advocacy strategies, and promote sustainable livelihoods.
Key Responsibilities
Program Development & Implementation
- Support partners in designing and assessing sustainable livelihood activities (agroecology, VET, income generation).
- Implement tdhs’s Regional Strategy in Mozambique, emphasizing youth participation and psychosocial support.
- Develop training manuals, tools, and methods tailored to youth needs.
Capacity Building & Networking
- Strengthen partner organizations through capacity-building and Communities of Practice.
- Facilitate experience-sharing among local, national, and international networks.
Advocacy & Collaboration
- Contribute to advocacy strategies on sustainable livelihoods in Southern Africa.
- Collaborate with the Maputo office, Zimbabwe team, and Swiss HQ.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Degree in Social Sciences, Ecological Agriculture, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in:
- Agroecology, local markets, and food systems or
- Vocational training (VET) and income-generation programs.
- Experience in youth-focused methodologies and M&E systems (a plus).
Skills & Competencies
- Fluency in English and Portuguese (written and spoken).
- Strong training design and facilitation skills.
- Knowledge of Mozambican NGO networks and regional partnerships.
- Willingness to travel frequently within Mozambique and Southern Africa.
