Position Overview
The Community Development Officer will be responsible for implementing and coordinating sectoral activities in Education, Health, WASH, Advocacy, Income Generation, and Child Sponsorship in Funguene locality. This position requires full-time residence in Funguene locality, as close engagement with the local community and continuous field presence are essential for the effective execution of the project. The officer will work closely with community leaders, local stakeholders, and beneficiaries to ensure the successful delivery of project outcomes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Project Implementation
- Plan and implement activities in Education, Health, WASH, Advocacy and Income generation activities under the supervision of the managers
- Coordinate with the community to carry out and monitor project activities
- Responsible for Child Sponsorship Program
- Operating Child Management System
- Reporting and Administration
- Prepare basic activity reports and submit required documents
- Manage office resources and support logistics in the locality
- Community Engagement
- Collaborating with local leaders, schools and health facilities
- Organize meetings, training, and awareness activities
Required Qualifications
Education:
-High School degree
-Relevant experience in Social Work, Education, Child Development, Community Development, Public Health.
Experience:
-Preferred: 2-3 years of experience in child sponsorship programs or community development projects
-Beneficial: Experience working with children and families in social services or community development
-Beneficial: Experience with databases or child management systems
Other Considerations:
-Mandatory: Strong alignment with the mission and values of Good Neighbors Mozambique
-Mandatory: Availability to reside or work at the Project Office in the Funguene Locality in Chibuto District, Gaza Province
-Preferred: Possession of a valid motorbike license
-Comprehensive understanding of safeguarding principles
Languages
Proficiency in Portuguese and ChanganaAble to communicate effectively in English (both spoken and written) at an intermediate to advanced level.
