Purpose of the Role
The Senior Buyer will be based in Sasol Temane and will oversee the procurement of goods and services to support plant operations and stakeholder needs, ensuring compliance, cost efficiency, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement Process:
- Execute purchasing through proper tender processes in line with Sasol’s policies.
- Ensure lowest total cost and competitive sourcing for the portfolio.
- Meet cycle time targets (PR to PO conversion) and manage expediting activities.
- Supplier & Delivery Management:
- Proactively monitor critical purchases to ensure on-time, in-full (OTIF) deliveries.
- Resolve delays, escalate supplier breaches (quality/delivery), and manage supplier performance.
- Negotiate cost savings independently.
- Stakeholder Coordination:
- Interpret demand signals to create and close POs efficiently.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align procurement with operational needs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: University Bachelor’s Degree.
- Experience: 6+ years in procurement or supply chain roles.
