About the Role
Sightsavers Mozambique is seeking an experienced Programme Finance Officer to support the Finance and Support Services Manager (FSSM) in program financial management. The role focuses on ensuring financial compliance, risk management, and effective coordination with partners and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management & Compliance:
- Prepare and maintain project budgets, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Monitor expenses vs. budgets, highlighting variances.
- Ensure adherence to donor rules and regulations.
- Reporting & Coordination:
- Prepare monthly Budget vs. Actual reports and quarterly financial reports for institutional donors.
- Consolidate and review partner financial reports.
- Coordinate spending plans with project teams and partners.
- Procurement & Value for Money:
- Identify procurement needs in consultation with the Program Manager.
- Follow Value for Money (VfM) strategies for projects.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or a relevant professional accounting qualification.
- Proven experience in financial management, project administration, and donor reporting (preferably in an INGO setting).
- Familiarity with SUN System and Standard Bank Online platforms.
- Strong budgeting, forecasting, and data analysis skills.
- Ability to work with institutional donors (e.g., FCDO, USAID, GIZ).
Desirable:
- Experience in audits and government collaborations.
- Knowledge of logistics and procurement processes.
